Updated: Jan 21, 2020

The iLIVE Project was presented at the X Argentine Congress of Medicine and Palliative Care that was held recently in the city of Salta, with the presence of the main centers and experts of Argentina in this field, both at regional and national levels. This event is organized by the Argentine Association of Medicine and Palliative Care (aamycp), the main professional group dedicated to this specialty in the country.

The event was attended by Dr. Vilma Tripodoro, a member of the Board of Directors of the Pallium Latin America Institute, one of the centers that take part in the iLIVE project. Tripodoro presented the study “Live Well, Die Well: A research program to support life to the end”, with which she outlined the objectives of iLIVE as well as the tools that will be used during the study to complete its mission. Along with her, the director of Pallium, Gustavo de Simone, also attended the congress.

The motto of this edition of the Congress has been “Palliative Care with and for the Community”, in order to call to action to society as a whole, recognizing the role of informal caregivers and the entire population in a subject that is important to all citizens.

The objective of the conference was to visualize palliative care and also to favor access to them for patients and families who have the right to access it in the country. That is why an open call was made to professionals, volunteers, caregivers, teachers, associations, institutions and the media to encourage all interested parties to attend the Congress.
