Behind a mask of sadness

On February 28th an exhibit on death rituals around the world was present at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Agnes van der Heide, leader of the iLive team in Rotterdam presented a booklet titled "Achter een masker van verdriet" or "Behind a mask of sadness" about the shared experiences of health care workers and bereaved relatives during the first Covid wave. The timing of this is not by coincidence as Erasmus MC also remembers the beginning of the pandemic three years ago to the day. The book was presented by Agnes to ICU nurses who dedicated their lives to helping fight the pandemic in the early days. An online version of the book can be found here. While it is only in Dutch, the photos are still powerful and academic articles references can be found in English.
